The leering and lascivious Alex Harvey in his hooped t-shirt was a sinister gurning menace straight out of the Gorbals. SAHB took the 70s and beyond by storm – the Boston Tea Party hosted by the Last Of The Teenage Idols – and influenced a young Bon Scott and Nick Cave along the way.

From Vambo to Jacques Brel to a swipe at Tom Jones’ Delilah, SAHB were the original vaudeville punks with cod-piece and jumpsuit hard rock foot-on-monitor theatre. They made The Tubes look like Boyzone.

The classic Faith Healer – “Let me put my hands on you” – was all throbbing synth and Zal Cleminson slashes of guitar.
